The 2nd tooth’s journey – 15 November 2016

Minh’s 2nd tooth had been wiggling in its shelter for a few days. Dad and grandpa who visited from Vietnam tried to persuade Minh to pull it out with a thread, just like what they themselves had when they were small, but unfortunately, no permission was granted. Feeling uncomfortable on his grandson’s behalf, or rather maybe unsettled about the failure, grandpa that night had a special dream. That was one of his own teeth, in the very same position, which is the middle of the lower jaw, dropped.  In the next morning, to his favourable surprise, Minh’s tooth was indeed just one gentle whistle away from saying goodbye to its home. Minh, however, persisted on not removing it, just running back and forth to the mirror for a look and self test instead.

“One of my classmates dropped his tooth in class and Ms. Griffiths could manage.”, said Minh to his grandmother at the breakfast table.

Mum knew that it was a really late dental appointment so she was so much longing for Minh to be back from school that afternoon to bring him to the dentist. However, to her most successful guess, the tooth, after travelling with Minh on the bus in the morning, finally decided to detach from its owner. In the very first hour of a Tuesday class. And indeed, Ms Griffiths could manage the situation quite effortlessly as there was no blood involved. The new tooth was really glad as it was not the only one that is 45 degree lined up! And its owner is even happier, as the tooth fairy would surely come that night!
